It’s about to get beachy
Beachy waves have been a hair styling phenomenon sweeping the world. This signature style can be best described as a soft, floaty curl, like that of which is achieved from swimming in the ocean and air drying your hair. It’s become a red carpet, and hair stylists go to for clients wanting to achieve a natural looking curl at home – with a lot less drying time and frizz!
Join us as we take you through our simple steps to beachy waves.
What you will need
- Curling Tong
- Sectioning Clips
- Brush or Comb
- Heat Protectant
Optional
- Salt Spray
How to get the look
- Brush your hair to remove any potential knots. Remember to start at the bottom and move up to the roots
- Spray hair with heat protectant and brush or comb through again to ensure even product distribution
- Ensure your curler is set to the right temperature for your hair. Use our temperature guide below
- Divide your hair into sections using our Sectioning Clips
- Beginning with the bottom section, take another section of hair about 3-4cm wide
- Holding the tong close to the root, begin wrapping the strand around the curling tong start close to your roots and curl away from your face
Do not wrap your ends around the tong, leave about 3cm out as this is how you get the undone look - Once your curls have cooled down we suggest using your comb rather than a brush to break them apart. That is how you truly get the beachy look
Styling notes from our Kaleo Collective
- Don’t hold your hair on the curler for too long, this will leave you with a well-done curl rather than an effortless one
- Use a salt spray to help add texture to the look
There you have it, you beachy beauty. In a matter of simple steps and short hold time, you’ve got that beautiful undone look. Remember, the less hold time around the barrel is key to creating the beachy look.
