How- to brush and comb your hair

  1. Choose the right brush and comb. Use a brush with soft bristles or a wide-toothed comb to avoid damaging your hair.
  2. Start with dry hair. Brushing wet hair can cause breakage and damage. So, it’s best to start with dry hair. If you have curly hair, you can use a leave-in conditioner or detangling spray to make the process easier
  3. Detangle with your fingers. Before using a brush or comb, detangle your hair with your fingers. This will help remove any knots or tangles without causing damage
  4. Brush or comb your hair in sections, ensure you start at the ends
  5. Work your way up to the roots, be careful not to pull or tug too hard. This will help avoid breakage and damage
  6. Once you’ve brushed or combed your hair, finish with a dry scalp massage. This will help improve blood circulation and promote hair growth.

Styling tips from the Kaleo Collective

  • Pump or add a few drops of your desired hair serum or oil after your dry scalp massage as this helps to hydrate your ends.
  • Clean your brush and comb regularly! This also helps to reduce excessive oil build up which can then be transferred to your locks when you brush them.
    • Wash Hairbrush with Shampoo. Fill a bowl with warm water and gently swirl the brush head in the water
    • Rinse with Clean Water and allow to air dry

There you have it! Simple steps that will help you brush and comb your hair like a pro, preventing damage, tangles, and breakage. Remember to choose the right tools, start with dry hair, detangle with your fingers, work in sections, and finish with a scalp massage.
